Protests to defund police and specialty task forces have resulted in some funding to be reallocated away from law enforcement agencies in many states. This immediately led to an unprecedented increase in homicides and violent crime. Police brutality and racism inside or our law enforcement agencies must be dealt with swiftly and judiciously, just as it would be with any other citizen. However, we cannot pretend the entire country’s system of law and order needs a full reset. Let’s hold the law enforcement officers accountable that act so egregiously while UNITING as Americans to support the law enforcement that risks their lives to keep us, our families and our country safe.
